Paris Je T'aime!!!!

Two important things to say before the week ends:

1. As you migh have noticed , I have been changin the layout of my blog : I think I finally got the look I want. Simple, neat, 3 colums (so that I can organise links and stuff alike better).

2.I am so happy with the result of these earrings: "Paris Je t'aime", mixed media: acrylic and polymer clay. Two clouds express their impressions as they pass through Paris' sky: "ohlala!", "oh mon dieu!". Available already!

Dos cosas importantes antes de que acabe el fin de semana:

1. Como puede que hayais notado, he estado cambiando el aspecto de mi blog: creo que finalmente tengo lo que quiero. Simple, claro, 3 columnas (para poder organizar los links y esas cosas mejor).

2.Estoy muy contenta con el resultado de estos pendientes: "Paris je t´aime", con materiales diversos: acrílicos y arcilla polimérica. Dos nubes expresan sus opiniones al pasar por el cielo de París "ohlala!" "oh mon dieu!". Ya disponibles.

One of the things that I love the most is making miniature food, don't ask me why. There are loads of applications to polymer clay and this one is my favourite.

Una de las cosas que más me gusta es hacer comida en miniatura, no me preguntéis por qué. Hay un montón de aplicaciones para la arcilla polimérica y ésta en concreto es mi favorita.

Cupcake Queen Line summer '08 - Linea Cupcake Queen verano '08

Busy working and crafting

I have been again on supply, lucily this time the school was much better organised than the last one :) it is a much worse area but you get what you see from kids and at the end of the day, with the expection of a pair of them, all are lovely and need some attention. I had time to work and craft a bit, and am very happy because last weekend I sold 3 things (2 to France and 1 to Germany). Besided I drove 2 hours to Birmingham and then Duncan continued down to London (5 hours in total!!!) but it was worth because it was mother day and his mother was delighted to see us. ******************** He estado de sustituta de nuevo, afortunadamente, esta vez el instituto estaba mucho mejor organizado :) es un area bastante peor que el anterior pero con los niños no te equivocas: lo que ves es lo que hay, y en resumidas cuentas, con la excepción de un par de ellos, todos son encantadores y necesitan algo de atención. Tuve tiempo de trabajar y hacer mis complementitos, estoy muyh contenta porque este finde he vendido 3 cosas (2 a Francia y una a Alemania). Además conduje 2 horas hasta Birmingham, donde Duncan tomó el relevo y nos llevó hasta Londres (5 horas en total) . Pero mereció la pena porque era el día de la madre y su madre estaba muy contenta de vernos.

Today after uploading some picts to my flickr account I had a look at my contacts and I couldn´t believe what I saw.

One of my contacts happens to be friends to and old friend of mine. I lost contact with him a long time ago, he used to be the boyfriend of another friend of mine.

Time passed I moved to Italy, went back to Spain and now I´m in England. I wrote to this contact we have in common telling her the story and giving her my phone number in case he wants to contact me.

Do you think he will call??? We used to laugh a lot together! Besides, I will be in my city next week, just perfect to see him again.


Changing subject: I have been doing some more craft: these earrings, from a lime murrine. It´s is the 2nd lime murrine I make, the 1st one wasn´t this perfect. I made these earrings for myself and have some more to sell too.


I also made this muffins, just for chocolate addicts like me!!!!!!!!!

Hoy, tras subir algunas fotos a mi flickr , estaba echando un vistazo a las fotos de mis contactos y no podía creer lo que mis ojos veían.

Uno de mis contactos resulta ser amiga de un viejo amigo mío. Perdí el contacto con este chico hace mucho tiempo, solia ser el novio de otro amigo mío.

El tiempo pasó, me mudé a Italia, volví a España, y ahora estoy en Inglaterra. Le he escrito a este contacto de flickr dándole mi tlf y contándole la historia por si se quiere poner en contacto conmigo.

¿Creeis que llamará? Solíamos salir juntos y nos reíamos tanto.... Además estaré en mi ciudad la semana que viene!!!!!

Cambiando de tema, ha sido un periodo agetreado: swaps, creaciones---


Estos son unos pendientes sacados de una murrina de limas. Es la segunda que hago, la primera no me salió tan perfecta. Luego les pinté los ojitos y la boca.


También hice estas magdalenas de chocolate, sólo para gente muy dulce, chocolateros como yo!!!!!



¡Ah! Y por fin le llegó mi swap a La mariposa verde.

Back to crafting

Hi again after a long long break.

I have been very busy lately, as I got a new job in a high school. It is very strange, because I have been wanting a job for such a long time, I just moved to the UK 7 months ago (in summer) and it has been difficult to get the "job thing" started. Finally it happend, and it is a good school .... but it happens to have some very badly organised departments (i.e. mine). I am struggling to get myself integrated, to catch up with the syllabus, understanding the many policies a school have (schools have many and every school is different). The kids are trying to test me, to see if I can put up with them or I leave. They want to see if I am what they call a "proper teacher", as if supply teachers were some other race or kind of teachers. I am covering a longish supply post, so in theory they should consider me a "proper teacher" (though I do not agree with the idea of it or the term itself).

The good thing to take out of these is that I have some good collegues, specially 2 of them, and every one outside my department seems to be very nice.

As for crafting, I haven´t had much time at all. When I come back I have to prepare my lessons for the next day and do my "home chores". nevertheless I have been stealing some time to craft a bit here and there, and this is the result of it.

These first pairs of earrings (lady bugs and cheetah print) have been partly made using material received from a swap from "bicos de nai". A lovely crafter and a wonderful and helping person. The materials I´ve used: lampwork ladybugs, faceted beads, sequind.

This little whipped cream pies have been handmade by me in polymer clay, and I just added some green faceted beads for extracuteness.

MY NEW EARRINGS - MIS NUEVOS PENDIENTES

I couldn´t sleep yesterday, so as I "listened" to the tv ( yes, you can´t watch it when you are crafting) I made this (eand its partner earring that is not in the picture :)).
I like them a lot and think they are far more beautiful in person. I made the beads myself, so they are quite unique in their kind.
I plan to make a few more in different colours and sell them in my etsy shop.

By the way, I must tell that I sold a pair of earrings on friday!!! they must be on the way to Massachusetts!!!!! I am so glad! :D it has been my first sale on etsy :D.

If I have more time I will be doing a few pairs more today, before going to bed. This week is going to be madness, as my parents are coming to visit me for Xmas and have to get everything ready for them.

Ayer por la noche no podía dormir, así que mientras escuchaba la tele (sí, cuando se están haciendo manualidades no se puede ver la tele, se escucha) hice ésto (éste pendiente y su pareja que no está en la foto).
Me gustan un montón y pienso que son mucho más bonitos en persona. Yo misma hice las bolitas, por lo que son bastante únicos en su estilo :D Quiero hacer un par más antes de irme a la cama hoy.

Por cierto, el otro día vendí mi primer par de pendientes en Etsy. ¡¡¡Tienen que andar de camino a Massachussets!!! ¡¡¡Estoy más contenta!!!!


Si tengo tiempo haré otros pendientillos que le he cogido el vicio. Esta semana va aser locura preparando la casa para mis padres que viene a visitarme por navidad.

GLITTER OCTOPUS EARRINGS

I should have called them "quatropus" as they really have just 4 legs!!! anyway, if you look most of japanese octopus drawings (the kawaii kind) they tend to have 4 legs!!!!

these are my first creation for today, (might do something else). I ´ve got the flue but in away I feel better doing something!!! I forget about the headache and the doziness!

The 1st one took me longer ...... as alway with experiments!!!! then the rest come quicker!
